Foods to lower cholesterol


When it comes to cholesterol our diet and lifestyle are the most influential factors. We are very well aware of the foods to avoid for maintaining our cholesterol but we rarely know about the foods that apart from bring insanely healthy offer the advantage of lowering cholesterol while maintaining good heart health.

1.   Nuts : Nuts such as walnut, almonds etc, are rich in protein, fibre, heart beneficial unsaturated fats, vitamin E, magnesium, potassium,omega3 fatty acid. 30-35g oe a handful a day of nuts can possibly bring down cholesterol by a normal of 5%.
2.   Oats and grain : Oats and grain such as barley are rich in soluble fibre called beta glucan. Once eaten beta glucan produces a gel like substance which helps tie cholesterol in the digestion tracts and keep it from being ingested. It is advised that we eat around 3g of beta glucan every day. Foods which contain at least 1g of beta glucan can help in lowering cholesterol.
3.   Fruits and vegetables : All fruits and vegetables have low saturated fat so eating more keeps immersed fat admission low. Fruits and vegetables have good amount of soluble fiber which helps in lowering cholesterol to incorporate no less than one of the pulses(beans, peas, lentils) regularly on everyday basis along with 2 helpings of fruits. Beans are rich in soluble fiber. They have protein do it takes them longer to get digested , meaning you feel full for longer after a meal Beans are a useful food for folks trying to lose weight. 4.   Vegetable oil :Try using vegetable oils such as canola, sunflower, and others in place of butter, when cooking or at the table helps lower LDL often known as bad cholesterol.
5.   Sterols and stanols : Sterols and stanols extracted from plants increases the body's ability to absorb cholesterol from food. Now a days they are added to foods ranging from margarine and granola bars to orange juice and chocolate. They're resialy available as supplements. 2 grams of plant sterols or stanols a day can lower LDL cholesterol by about approximately 10%.
