National Wear Red Day in the United States | MedsEngage.com

National Wear Red Day:

The first Friday of February has been celebrated as National Red wear day in the United States. On this day, men and women are encouraged to wear red as a symbol of their support of women’s heart health.
“Go Red for Women” is a program within American Heart Association whose mission is to raise awareness of cardiovascular diseases in women and make sure they do everything they can do reduce the risks. The program also supplies women with information and tools to make that happen. It is one of the best initiatives by American Health Association.

Observe National Wear Red Day

People wear red cloths as a way to bring attention to the problem associated with heart disease in women. Many women wear red dresses, the identifying symbol for the day. Most of the health organisations hold seminars and public outreach events to educate people about prevention and screening of heart disease.
National Wear Red Day is not an official holiday so businesses, schools and government offices are open. Some of charities are organising events for Blood Pressure Checkup.
